تو نے پوچھی ہے امامت کی حقیقت مجھ سے
حق تجھے میری طرح صاحب اسرار کرے
ہے وہی تیرے زمانے کا امام برحق
جو تجھے حاضر و موجود سے بیزار کرے
موت کے آئینے میں تجھ کو دکھا کر رخ دوست
زندگی تیرے لیے اور بھی دشوار کرے
دے کے احساس زیاں تیرا لہو گرما دے
فقر کی سان چڑھا کر تجھے تلوار کرے
فتنئہ ملت بیضا ہے امامت اس کی
جو مسلماں کو سلاطیں کا پرستار کرے
حق تجھے میری طرح صاحب اسرار کرے

May Lord make us privy to that secret
He is the Leader of present times
Who turns you away from the creation
Pointing you to the face of the beloved in death
Who makes life even more difficult for you
Who makes your blood boil by alerting you about the loss
Making a sword of you, sharpening you by destitution
The Leadership is doom of the Glorious Generation
If it leads to adoration, adulation and worship of Kings
May Lord make us privy to that secret
